Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal

Gone Wednesday among 564 CA members 560 voted for the new Nepal declaring official as the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal. That means 99.29% of the voting was in the support of abolishing the 240 years of monarchy. This historic event is the world’s latest great event forming the new republic nation witnessed by all over the world.

I here welcome this new era of democracy which is being called as “New Nepal“. Though there is a lot more problems to solve I am quite optimistic about it. I personally suggest everyone to write about this historic event so that you couldn’t forget anything about it coz this is the time that nobody will behold in his entire life again. We are the lucky one to behold this one and only life time experience about which the new generations will be going to ask so many questions about it. So just be prepared for it collection some data and the process how the event took place.

The first meeting of forming the new constitution took place at BICC building on 28th May 2008. The meeting was supposed to start at 11 am but due to the delay it only started at 9 pm at night.

Maoists and Nepali Congress is fighting again for the post of president and prime minister post. The new government will be directed the prime minister as the executive head and president will be kept as ceremonial. So whoever will become president will be the first president in the history of Nepal. So the quarrel is going there again like a small child fighting for a same toy. बच्चाहरु को झगडा ।

Anyway some divine power may give them some nice thinking inside their head I will pray for it otherwise the Nepali citizen will pay for their children fighting thing.

Long live Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal !!

संघीय लोकतांत्रिक गणतंत्र जिन्दाबाद !!

Being the witness of first Constituent Assembly election of Nepal

In the history of Nepal, for the first time the election of Constituent Assembly is going to take place on 10th April 2008 which will write a new constitution without a monarchism. It is the honor and luck of all Nepali citizen to behold and experience this one and only in a lifetime happening. After postponing for two times this election is going to held with lot of excitement and optimism. It is already declared to write as a Republic Nepal but the implementation has not done. So how will be the practical end of 240 years of monarchy is going to happen? Answer lies after the role of the government to be formed after the election.

Official 74 various political parties are taking part in the CA election including some King supported ones. I personally think that those King sided parties are going to lose with huge difference. I mock those parties a really big and huge THUMBS DOWN! wishing them a very much bad luck in the present and in the future.

Altogether there will be 601 various representatives. 240 of them is chosen from direct election and 335 is chosen from proportional election. 26 are selected among the national icons and famous persons of Nepal. The result of the election is said to be declared within 21 days after the day of election. The newly formed government is going to hold for 2 years and could be extended for 6 months in case of emergency. The majority representation meeting is held by the 1/4 th of total number of representatives. People 18 years or above are eligible for voting and 17.5 million people are eligible according to the Election Commission of Nepal.

Everybody know that one of the three major parties among Nepali Congress, CPN (UML) and The Maoists will form the future government. But which party will be able to make it? In my personal opinion there is big chance of Maoists because all the people have already given votes to the other ones and seen what they could do. There is only one new and fresh party though having a bad history and that is Maoists. In that sense there is a lot of chance for them.

Our relative Mr. Bhawani Lohorung has also taken part from Shankhuwashabha direct election. I wish him the very best wishes and goodluck.

HAPPY VOTING!

Long Live Democracy!

9th International Mother Langauge Day Celebrated

The gone 21st of this month was the 9th International Mother Language Day. Our local club Chulachuli UNESCO Club celebrated the day by showing a feature film “Kripa” which was in Gurung language having Nepali subtitle. Indigenous Film Archive (IFA) and “Nepal Rastra Ayog” supported the program. The theme of this year was “International year of Languages”. It was presented at Gurukul, Battisputalisadak. There also held the interaction program after the show where Dr. Bajracharya and language expert Mr. Amrit Younjon gave their reactions about the film.

The one of the reactions that I liked about Amrit Ji was that we shouldn’t blame for all the nonsense things to “Jhakri‘ due to the superstitions we have in our village and remote areas coz they are the one who healed our pain and sufferings throughout the centuries. They are the one who cured our wounds and treated us like doctor. Till now also there are not enough doctors in the village and the people have to be dependant to them only.

In the movie there is a girl named Kripa. She has been raised by a man who is deaf called Ode. The role of Ode is played by the director of the film Maotse Gurung. Kripa goes to stay with Ode’s sister in the city. After some years she comes back to the village but finds herself in difficult situation with Ode’s relationship. Finally she understands it perfectly the truth of their relationship and the film ends.

Kantipur Error or Politics?

Kantipur is the most reputed and top selling daily newspaper in Nepal. I think nobody will deny the line. And I am too is one of them before I discovered a huge and critical matter relating to the flow of news. First and the foremost I am sure that a daily newspaper like Kantipur should flow same news in each individual Kantipur newspaper regardless of territory of publication whether it is east or west. I am pretty sure about that a reputed newspaper should be published and take to the market when every necessary quality checkings are done. If is not done then there will no reliability to the readers and the customers.

I know that there is very much chance of errors in the daily newspapers like Kantipur. There are many news to collect, edit and publish each day. But being a reputed and highly responsible newspaper, Kantipur should not take any chances or excuses publishing such blunders and forgetting about it without informing the loyal readers.

I came to know about this mess from my father who works at Janakpur. He found the news of my Grandfather (Mother’s father) being welcomed to his village by different political parties in the second page of 15 th Baisakh 2064, Saturday in Kantipur newspaper. After some day he came to Kathmandu and told us that our Grandfather’s news has been published in Kantipur. We searched the newspaper of that particular date and was shocked to believe what we saw.

There were completely different news there. We couldn’t’t believe it and asked our uncle to send that particular newspaper form Janakpur. He did and we compared the two newspapers viz published from Kathmandu and Biratnagar. There was a whole smell of politics. Because though the news of the second and third pages are completely messed up, there was all the news but in different location except our Grandfather’s news.

The other Kantipur which is published from Biratnagar has given his news but not by the Kathmandu publication. So I mean to say is that what is the matter of all this kind of error? Though I have seen some minor errors I haven’t seen such a blunder. If a reputed newspaper like Kantipur continues to do such mistakes then how can a person be reliable to the news he is reading or listening?

Though I am a not a anti of Kantipur and its publication, I am just trying to focus the Kantipur’s eye not to repeat the same mistake again and again.
